SIXIN

SIXIN

If you are learning Braille and want to practise, Sixin will help.
If you know Braille and struggle with the complexities of a qwerty keyboard, use Sixin instead.
If you are a fast Braillist, put Sixin on a laptop and you can take notes quietly and at great speed in meetings or lectures using the grade 2 Braille code.

Sixin converts the six keys, letters S D F J K L, on your QWERTY keyboard into Braille keys which you can press simultaneously as if you were using a Braille typewriter.
You can easily check your writing as ordinary print letters will appear on the screen once you have pressed the space bar.
The letters will speak to you if you have a Screenreader such as Thunder running.
The Space bar, Alt, Control and other Windows function keys work as normal.
You can write either grade 2 or computer Braille at speed.
You can check it in print screen or with your screenreader or Braille display, change or edit what you write and save it as usual on your PC.

System requirements:
- Best used with Notepad.
- May not work with all versions of MS Word.
- Keyboards can be problematical. To test your keyboard, use one that you can press up to six letters together: hold down the letters SDF JKL, release, and if you have Thunder speech screenreader press CAPS LOCK L and you should hear the letters S D F J K L spoken.
